Restarting the Host Queue

Issues with serial ports, printers, or other configured devices can affect the normal operation of Galileo Print Manager.net. In most situations, resolving these issues will ensure that printing continues normally. However, you should restart the host queue if printing does not occur. This appendix explains how to check the queue for any held ticket image and then how to force the ticket image out of the printer buffer by restarting the queue. It also provides a quick reference of host queue commands.

Note: The information in this appendix applies to LCN host handlers, not GPDS. For information about printing issues related to GPDS, see Issues Related to GPDS.

Checking the Queue for Ticket Images

No more than one ticket image will be held in the printer buffer. Therefore, the count in the buffer will be 0 or 1, which refers to the number of Galileo Booking Files (BFs) or Apollo Passenger Name Record (PNRs), not the number of passengers or documents.

To check the queue count, type the following command from the host's terminal window:

HQCgtid (where gtid is the printer GTID)

The following example shows the system response for a printer GTID "C5F062" with one ticket image in the printer buffer (count highlighted in bold):

SET ADDRESS C5F062 01

Restarting the Queue

You can restart the print device to force the ticket image out of the printer buffer.

Note: The printer must be in up (U) status to perform a restart.

To restart the queue, type the following command from the host's terminal window:

HQSgtid (where gtid is the printer GTID)

The system response follows:

RESTART IN PROGRESS - PLEASE WAIT
